Training kit on preparing for a safe family life
The family was and remains the harbour upon which the human boat anchors, the source of warmth and security, and the embrace to which a person retreats in joys and misfortunes. It is the basic building block on which societies are founded and the origin to which the individual returns. Whenever the family is stable and happy, a person lives a sound life within it. All the troubles and problems that life brings, which may disturb a person's peace of mind, break apart as soon as a person enters their calm family home, and everything that troubles a person dissipates at the threshold of a cohesive and bonded family.
The family is a social institution whose members are linked by ties of blood and marriage. They live together a shared life, and work together permanently to provide the basic economic and social requirements necessary for the continuity of life. The family is considered the first cell of society, as the social fabric is formed from it, starting with clans and ending with modern nations.
Among the functions of the family are the following:
Upholding the limits set by God and achieving His law and His pleasure by establishing the Muslim household:
God Almighty says: "But if you fear that they will not be able to keep within the limits of Allah, then there is no blame upon either of them concerning that by which she ransoms herself. These are the limits of Allah, so do not transgress them. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah, it is those who are the wrongdoers." (Al-Baqarah, verse 229).
Increasing the offspring of the Muslim nation. The Messenger of Allah said:
("Marriage is from my tradition, so whoever turns away from my tradition is not of me. Marry, for I will boast of your great numbers before the other nations.")
Providing stability, security and protection for family members.
Supplying them with the means that prepare them to form their identities within society.
The family helps instil skills, knowledge and positive attitudes in its members.
Teaching children how to interact socially and form social relationships.
People preparing for marriage, family counsellors, and anyone interested in family guidance.
