Training Kit on Building and Instilling Islamic Values in Early Childhood
Values are considered a set of principles that form a person's character and general behaviour, and values are what determine human relationships with one another on strong and solid foundations.
Moral values are also what contribute to the soundness of society, and protect it from deterioration and decline; for this reason Islam urges the Muslim person to adopt all moral values and instil them in their children, in order to create a conscious, cultured, and psychologically sound generation, and to build a sound society free of all the ailments that threaten human stability. Each society differs in its distinct culture and its value system, which it derives from its own sources; moral values form part of Islamic society, and these values are derived from the sources of Islamic legislation, whose rulings do not contradict the innate nature upon which people were created, since the Legislator and the Creator are one. As for the sources from which morals were derived: the first is the Noble Quran, which is considered the first and primary source of the system of moral values, and the second is the Prophetic Sunnah, which is considered complementary to, explanatory of, and clarifying of the Noble Quran. Parents and teachers bear the responsibility of instilling morals and values in children, as they must provide children with moral values, good behaviours, noble principles, and behavioural virtues.
