A Training Kit on Anxiety in Children
The problem of anxiety in children is one of the psychological problems that a child faces, exactly like an adult. Anxiety, by its nature, may show its positive side if it pushes a person towards change and progress. But when it becomes an obstacle in a person's path at any stage of life, it then becomes a pathological problem that needs to be examined, and its causes and methods of prevention identified.
Anxiety is considered to be a state of feeling discomfort, disturbance, and worry related to future events.
Among the causes of a child feeling anxious are emotional deprivation and not feeling safe with those around him.
Also inconsistency in dealing with the child, whether by the parents or at school, the constant change in upbringing methods, as well as the loss of social support from those around him, and children's fear of negative evaluation by others.
Anxiety in Children
It is a fear of the unknown, and the unknown for the child is his own inner drives: the drive towards aggression, desires, dependency, and so on. The behaviour resulting from these drives is mostly met with punishment and prohibition, so the child cannot express them. But this does not mean that these drives have died; rather, they remain present and remain capable of being stirred up, and when they are stirred up, the child shows feelings of fear of the punishment he will receive, but he does not know the source of this fear.
