Description
Computer software maintenance is the kind of maintenance that detects and diagnoses faults in order to repair them or replace the faulty parts, then verifies that the repair was done properly according to quality standards.
Maintenance is a periodic process that keeps a computer running well and prevents problems before they happen. It is divided into hardware maintenance and software maintenance.
Maintenance methods
Periodic maintenance: performed to prevent faults after a certain period of operation and use, at fixed time intervals.
Preventive maintenance: performed at any time to protect the computer from external factors such as dust, fumes and heat, and from power-voltage fluctuations that may cause failures.
Corrective maintenance: performed when a fault has already occurred in the device.
