A Training Kit on Autism
Recently, attention has begun to be paid to developmental disorders that affect children, their natural development, and their future in life. This attention stems from an assumption that speedy diagnosis, intervention, and finding appropriate solutions and methods to raise the competence of these individuals while they are at an early age, enables them to face life in a better way.
Autism is derived from the word "Autos", meaning self or one's own or self-movement, and "Ism", meaning an abnormal condition. This term, Autism, is taken from the Greek language, and is divided into two parts: "Autos", meaning self, and also "Ism", meaning an abnormal and unstable condition. It is thus a disorder, and it does not mean, as some believe, that autism is introversion. Autism is understood as the person afflicted with this condition; they are withdrawn into their own imagination and suffer from weak social bonding with others. Autism also results from a disorder in the nervous system, which affects brain functions.
