Mind maps are a multi-method or multi-tool device used to organise thought in order to strengthen memory. A mind map is a technique through which the learner is provided with a set of keys that help him make good use of his cognitive skills in addition to his perceptual skills.
The mind map, in English: (mental map), is a means of expressing a personal point of view about the world of ideas and diagrams instead of being limited to words alone, using branches, images and colours to express the idea. It is used as a method of using memory and relies on visual memory in an illustrative drawing that is easy to review and recall, with simplified rules and instructions.
