Marketing Yourself in the Job Market Training Kit
A kit for women on personal marketing in the job market: setting goals, building a strong CV, creating a personal website and blog, and succeeding at job interviews and networking.
William Shakespeare once said: "We know what we are, but know not what we may be." Does this describe you? Do you focus on your limitations, your failures, and your faltering, troubled way of doing things, rarely stopping to think about what you could be? The problem is that, since childhood, you have been conditioned by ideas, values, beliefs and mistaken notions that have prevented you from realising just how capable, distinguished and truly unique you are!
It is a person's confidence in their qualities, abilities and judgement of matters.
It can be defined as a person's belief in their goals, decisions, abilities and potential, that is, belief in oneself.
In psychology, a self-confident person is defined as one who respects and values themselves, loves themselves and does not expose themselves to harm, trusts their ability to make sound decisions and is aware of their competencies; a self-confident person is also characterised by reassurance, optimism and the ability to achieve goals.
Exaggerating matters and giving them a size beyond their actual size, such that what preoccupies the person's thinking most is other people watching their every action, and that they see them only as a person of weak character.
Always being overly cautious before doing anything that differs from the nature of those around you, for fear of being criticised or embarrassed in front of others.
A diminished sense of self, whereby the person sees themselves as a weak personality with neither power nor strength, floundering amid circumstances with no recourse, and believes they possess nothing good or distinctive through which to prove themselves; this feeling takes hold of them until it becomes a reality.
