Training Kit on Excellence in Customer Service
Companies entering the competition in new markets resort to weakening existing companies by using new ways of running business, and one of the factors that has driven all these changes in competition is continuous change and technological development.
Customer Service
It is the efforts the organisation makes to meet customers' specific needs. The organisation does not aim, by providing this service to customers, to achieve only material benefit or economic profit, so much as it seeks to secure a degree of acceptance for itself and to excel over the competition.
Distinctive Characteristics of Customer Service
Services are intangible and cannot be perceived physically.
Services are inseparable from the point at which they are delivered, as the place of producing the service is the same as the place of consuming it.
Services are heterogeneous, and it is difficult to standardise or direct their level of performance by service providers.
Services cannot be stored, as services are created by the service provider as soon as the customer appears before them.
Customer service and reception staff, call centre supervisors, and public and private sector employees.
