Interest in the process of psychological diagnosis emerged with the beginnings of interest in medicine, especially diseases affecting humans, as diagnosis derives its origins from the various medical sciences. Diagnosis was not limited to one aspect but extended to all aspects of personality: physical, psychological, social and emotional
Diagnosis
It is a set of actions that lead to identifying the defect and attempting to address it in order to reach the specified goals.
It is a Greek word derived from the word (diagnosis) meaning knowledge (connaissance); it was originally used in the field of medicine.
The Goals of Diagnosis
The first goal: is a scientific goal, which is to gather scattered partial diagnoses reached during the course of the study, so that they are integrated within the overall view in order to arrive at a complete diagnosis of the problem through the symptoms representing it.
The second goal: is a practical goal, which is to provide a plan of action (a treatment plan); as sound diagnosis helps in determining the procedures and therapeutic methods appropriate to the nature of the problem and the nature of the client.
