A training kit on occupational security and safety
Security is a comprehensive term used widely to refer to the protection of individuals, organisations, and assets from external threats and criminal activities that may be directed at these entities with the aim of harming them and halting their actual activity. Security focuses heavily on deliberate actions directed towards inflicting harm on an individual, organisation, or even assets intentionally, and attempts to avoid them.
The term safety is the term used to refer to the state of protection from aspects that may potentially cause harm to the individual, institutions, and assets alike. The term safety is also used to refer to the state in which the individual controls the risk-causing aspects and thus protects them from the risks that may harm them entirely unintentionally.
The concept of occupational security and safety refers to the measures a person takes to defend themselves or protect themselves and preserve their property, whether when exposed to harm by individuals, accidents, or even natural disasters such as earthquakes and others, where a person usually makes a decision to flee or to confront and defend. It is the completion of work in safe conditions so that industrial security and occupational safety are achieved at the facility without any risks faced by workers or property, with the aim of reducing accidents and worker injuries and increasing the pace of production.
