A training kit on modern methods of teaching dictation
The fundamental goal of teaching the Arabic language is to equip the learner with the ability to communicate clearly and correctly, whether that communication is oral or written. This can only be achieved through the four skills into which the Arabic language branches: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Difficulties in dictation (spelling)
This is the pupil's inability to encode letters and words. The pupil has difficulty converting the symbolic mental image of letters and words, through their various constituent sounds (including still and moving letters with their vowel marks of damma, fatha and kasra), into written forms.
Objectives of teaching dictation
Teaching pupils correctness in writing and fixing its images in their minds by writing it from memory.
Teaching pupils to listen attentively to spoken text being read.
Training pupils to use punctuation marks between sentences.
Accustoming pupils to neatness in their writing.
Arabic language teachers, learning difficulties specialists, and anyone interested in teaching children.
