In the modern era, a need arose for an independent science concerned with crises and disasters and how to manage and confront them, called the "science of crisis and disaster management". Like other sciences, it is founded on a set of scientific bases, principles, and concepts of its own.
Crisis Management
Crisis management is the continuous administrative process concerned with predicting potential crises by sensing and monitoring the internal or external environmental changes that generate them, and with mobilizing the available resources and capabilities as efficiently and effectively as possible. Its aim is to cause the least possible harm to the organization, the environment, and employees, and to return to normal as quickly and as cheaply as possible.

The presentation also reviews the principles on which crisis management rests and how to apply them in the workplace.
