Institutional Restructuring Training Kit
A kit on managing organisational change and crises, diagnosing institutional failure, and the concepts, reasons and methods of administrative and financial restructuring.
A partnership is a contract or agreement between two or more projects based on cooperation between the partners, relating to a production activity (technological, industrial, service, or commercial), with both parties sharing the benefits and profits that will be achieved from this cooperation according to the extent of each party's financial and technical contribution.
Before you decide to partner with someone, make sure that working with a partner will benefit you and add to your business and organisation and not contribute to its failure, by reviewing the following:
Ask yourself: Do I really need a partner? We should seek a partnership when having a partner is of critical importance to the success of your business or organisation, that is, when the potential partner has the financial resources, relationships that support the business, or the vital skills that you may lack.
If you have not worked with this partner before, test the partnership with them by collaborating on a small project so that each of you gets to know the other's skills. This is also a way of learning more about each other's character and core values.
Partners' professional skills should complement each other but not overlap. For example, you may have the ability to see the details while the other partner has the talent for seeing the bigger picture, and you may be an expert in marketing and sales, while the other partner prefers to stay in the background dealing with financial matters.
It is preferable, after negotiating and defining objectives, expectations, and ethical foundations, that each partner sit with himself and study the matter from all angles before the final agreement.
Treat a partnership with close friends as if it were with strangers: through careful planning and preparing in advance for every aspect of the agreement, so that there is an answer as to how difficult situations will be handled should they arise, because attention to detail in this case is an urgent necessity, so that friendships are not affected and you do not lose what you wanted from this partnership because of this friendship being open without working boundaries.
