Burnout is considered a state of emotional, intellectual and physical exhaustion, which takes the form of expressions used by an individual towards their work as responses to chronic stress and organisational relationships.
This condition is manifested in the individual's feeling that their emotional resources are depleted, their tendency to evaluate themselves negatively, their feeling of declining competence at work, a weak awareness of the obligations of the psychological employment contract between them and the organisation, a loss of personal commitment in work relationships, in addition to losing the human element in dealing with others inside and outside the organisation.
Burnout is a special type of work-related nervous stress, a state of physical or psychological strain that involves a feeling of declining productivity and loss of personal identity, resulting from long-term work pressures that have not been recognised or addressed. This type of burnout involves mental, emotional or physical exhaustion, often accompanied by a feeling of pessimism and hopelessness.
